Last month, CBSNews.com posted “Cell Phones & Cancer: 8 Dumb Things to Boost Your Possible Cancer Risk”
Expect a conversation to run long? The longer you use a cell phone, the greater the amount of radiation that’s delivered to your body – which suggests that it’s best to limit cell phone calls to those that take no more than a few minutes. For longer conversations, Dr. Davis recommends using a (corded) land line (phone).
It’s very important to know that cordless landline phones also emit harmful radiation.
Cell phones weren’t originally produced to be used as much as they are now – or – by every man, woman, and child. Safety guidelines and testing standards are 20+ years old and utilize a model of a 220 pound male head.
Since 1972, there has been research from the U.S. military, the telecom industry, and other credible sources that has proven harm from cell phone radiation and other sources of wireless (WiFi) radiation in addition to boosting cancer risk. Source 2
According to Dr. Keith Black, Chairman of Neurology of Cedar Sinai Los Angeles:
Research has shown that mobile (cell) phone use for 5 minutes can cause significant memory impairment in humans.
Besides affecting memory, cell phone radiation and other sources of wireless (WiFi) radiation disrupt the blood-brain barrier which can cause it to leak. This may lead to lowered impulse control as well as other behavioral, emotional, and mental health issues.
Silicon Valley parents (including Steve Jobs) have been limiting their kids’ use and exposure to new technology for many years now. They have probably read the guidelines in the product manuals unlike many of the rest of us.
Many people have long conversations on their cell phones in addition to holding their phones against their heads which is CBSNews.com #2 Dumb Thing to Boost Possible Cancer Risk.
Many people talk inside buildings, in moving vehicles and in other places where the signal is weak which is CBSNews.com #4 Dumb Thing to Boost Possible Cancer Risk.
Many scientists believe there is enough research that shows that all sources of wireless (WiFi) radiation should be classified as a Group A Carcinogen.
Like sun exposure, wireless (WiFi) radiation exposure has also been scientifically proven to speed up the aging process.
So the longer the cell phone conversation – the longer you’re being “cooked.” Same with everyone within close proximity to you and your phone.
Dr. Oz recently aired a segment about U.S. elected officials who have passed legislation which allows telecom companies to install more cell towers and wireless infrastructure pretty much wherever they want – including in front of homes. This is to enable us to “binge watch, surf, and post online” at super high speeds without the threat of being disconnected.
If we all only used our cell phones for a few minutes at a time and used wired internet instead of WiFi, it wouldn’t seem necessary for more ugly cell towers everywhere – including in front of homes – which will undoubtedly lower property value.
Research has also determined that cell phones are 10 times dirtier than a toilet seat. Ew.
For those whose brains haven’t completely been “cooked,” these may also seem like other good reasons to use corded landline phones for conversations lasting longer than a few minutes.
